Expect the unexpected, they say.
I woke up in the morning with a huge grin on my face as I had just been to the a1 concert at the IEC Pavilion the previous night. Unlike any other work day, where I have to drag myself to my home office and persistently convince myself that I need my job (lol), I was actually quite eager to get on with my day. And when I opened my email, something turned my good morning into an even better one.
“Congratulations,Your Blog Is A Finalist!” said the email from Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA), an award-giving body that gives recognition to blogs and bloggers in Cebu.
My blog is a finalist under the Best Cebu Travel Blogs category!
I was surprised to be even included in the list since The Tiny Wanderer is relatively new (just a little over 1 month old) compared to Miss Chief, which I had maintained for several years. I wanted to narrow down my focus, so I shifted from blogging about everything under the sun, to just blogging about travel and occasionally, food. Guess I made the right (impulsive) decision to leave my old blog and start a new one!
I excitedly clicked the link that led me to the page where the travel blog finalists were. Seeing my name there, considering I’m merely a nobody in the blogosphere, made me really happy and excited. It’s my first time being a part of anything like this, so win or lose, I am still extremely grateful to BCBA for choosing me as a part of this list, along with the other awesome travel bloggers. I can say that I have become even more inspired to deliver better content.
Congratulations to all the finalists!

Lastly, I would also like to thank my readers and everyone who shared my posts, especially the one about the Hidden Waterfall in San Fernando, which reached more than 2,000 shares on Facebook. That was a first for me. Again, thank you. You’re all awesome!
Just a girl in her late twenties trying to find her way through life. She loves to write, eat, take photos, and freedive. She used to travel a lot and hopes she could do that again when this global pandemic is over.
