Camotes Island 2015 - Travel Knots-2

One last hurrah before the year ends! After weeks of being thirsty for adventure, I finally got to have my dose of it – in Camotes!

Camotes is a group of islands located in the east of Cebu. There are two ports that will allow you to get there: Danao Port to Consuelo Port and Pier 1 to Poro Port. In our case, we took the former. The boat ride going to Consuelo Port took about 2 hours.

When we were already in Camotes, we hired a motorcycle driver to take us on a quick tour. Our first stop was Mangodlong Rock Resort.

Santiago White Beach wasn’t our second stop, rather it was where we stayed during our quick getaway to Camotes. Sorry for the wrong order of photos. 😉

Look at that loooong stretch of white sand. The low tide during the day made the beach not ideal for swimming though.

What’s great about staying in Santiago beach is that you can set up your own tent. You’d have to pay P150 for each night, but that’s a way too little amount compared to the room rates at the resort. But if you’re not into the tent life, there are many accomodations to choose from on Agoda.

Okay, back to the tour. Our second stop was Lake Danao Park, where we went kayaking! It was fun… but my aaaaaaaarms! lol

Next was Timubo Cave, where we took a quick dip in the cool water. I would have wanted to stay longer if only it wasn’t packed with so many people.

After our trip to the cave, we headed to the Baywalk to have our lunch. The barbecue was delicious!

Now, for the part that I was super excited about – Buho Rock!

I got to tick off another item from my bucket list, which is cliff diving! Jumping off a cliff was scary for me, as well as finally getting to swim in deep waters (for just a few minutes) without a life jacket. Haha!

Have you been to this beautiful island? What’s your Camotes experience? I’d love to hear about it!
